Anexo:Códigos de cliente de Boeing
Códigos de cliente únicos y fijos fueron usados por Boeing Commercial Airplanes para indicar el cliente original de aviones de la familia 7x7 producidos desde 1056 excepto por el 787, 737 MAX y 777X hasta 2016.
Tienen la forma de dos letras o números los cuales se aplican al designador de modelo del avión, por ejemplo:
- Los Boeing 727-100 y 727-200 encargados por United Airlines con código de cliente 22 eran designados 727-22 (no -122) y 727-222 respectivamente.
- Un Boeing 737-800 encargado por Southwest Airlines con código de cliente H4 era designado como Boeing 737-8H4.
- Un Boeing 747-400 encargado por Korean Air con código de cliente B5 era designado como Boeing 747-4B5.
- Un Boeing 747SP encargado por Qantas con código de cliente 38 era designado como Boeing 747SP-38.
- Un Boeing 747SR encargado por Japan Airlines con código de cliente 46 era designado como Boeing 747SR-46, en vez de 747-146(SR).
- Un Boeing 767-300ER encargado por EVA Air con código de cliente 5E sería designado como Boeing 767-35E(ER).
- Un Boeing 777F encargado por GECAS con código de cliente 6N sería designado como Boeing 777-F6N.
- Un Boeing 747-8F encargado por Nippon Cargo Airlines con código de cliente KZ sería designado como Boeing 747-8KZF.
- Un Boeing 747-8I encargado por Lufthansa con código de cliente 30 sería designado como Boeing 747-830.
Los códigos no cambian cuando el avión es revendido o convertido. Por ejemplo, un Boeing Dreamlifter que se construyó originalmente como un 747-400 de pasajeros para China Airlines con código de cliente 09 sería designado como 747-409(LCF)
Antes del 707 Boeing utilizó un sistema generalmente similar para identificar la presencia de variaciones u opciones, pero los códigos no eran específicos a un cliente.
En 2016, Boeing anunció que los códigos no serían aplicados a ningún avión producido después de un cierto momento, usándose entonces los designadores genéricos. Los códigos se eliminaron de los certificados a partir de las siguientes unidades:
- Boeing 737 Next Generation: número de línea 6082
- Boeing P-8 Poseidon: número de línea 6020
- Boeing 747-8: número de línea 1534
- Boeing 767: número de línea 1102
- Boeing 777: número de línea 1422
Los códigos nunca se utilizaron para el 787 y 737 MAX, y no se aplicarán tampoco para el 777X.

Boeing generalmente asignó nuevos códigos secuencialmente, con excepción de 01 a 19 siendo asignados después de 21 a 99. El código 20 fue reservado para uso de Boeing, pero esto fue formal solo para el 707.
